Bachmann Spectrum K4 with TCS WowSound decoder and 4 Zimo speakers.

I wired 4 Zimo speakers up in a series/parallel configuration to a TCS WowSound decoder and although it was a tight fit I was able to get it all in.

I am blown away by the performance of the BEMF motor control and Keep alive capacitor. The Audio Assist feature is so easy to use that anyone can get it setup with little to no DCC CV programming. And to say the sounds are the best, clearest steam sounds in the industry might even be an understatement.

About the only complaint I have is that I can't figure out how to drive a fan driven smoke unit with it. If I could do that, it would be the perfect decoder.

Atlas N S-2 Locomotive - Now with factory sound and DCC installed. Too cool. Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) these later this year.

Kato announces truck mounted motors in HO

Very cool news from Kato. I look forward to putting two big speakers and a QSI Titan DCC decoder in one of the new models.

Viewing height

This shot approximates the viewing angle while sitting in a chair.

Bridge over the river plywood...

As soon as it arrives from Walthers. I need to see what the dimensions of the kit are so I can figure out what to do with the bridge abutments.

Not too bad...

Not bad at all given my meager carpentry skills. It looks like I have learned a thing or two in all the years I have been building layouts.

Subroadbed progress

I think I have a method that will work. I still have to pickup some Titebond glue and quick clamps, as recommended by Mr. Darren T. Kinleyside, but I am on the right track.

There is 4" of separation between bench work and the top of the sub-roadbed. That was done so that two layers of 2" foam could be stacked and carved for scenery.

Office layout benchwork

I ordered my benchwork for my mew office layout from modelrailroadbenchwork.com Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality and the ease of construction. There are only a few things that I can think of that I would change. I need to order another set of legs but overall this is a very very good product. After ordering it it took about one week to package it up, ship it out, and I received it just a few days after that. Ondrew was very helpful with my order and communication was excellent. I was able to complete the project in just over 2 1/2 hours from start to what you see in the pictures above. I have to say again that I'm very pleased and modelrailroadbenchwork.com is highly recommended by me.
